Reduce Losses – Keep Contraband Out-of the Workplaces

Contrabands like drugs and alcohols in  workplaces  costs businesses an estimate of $102 billion dollars per year in lost and reduced productivities, in accordant to the recent Labour Departments statistics. The estimation has been done one among all 8 workers, ages from 26-34  uses,sells or possesses contrabands on jobs.

If employees are’nt bringing unlawful substances to works they wish to be much inclined to be sober on shifts dramatically shortening work-related injuries and also cutting down lost working time and workmans comp claims.

Expected crimes would be discouraged including drug use, theft  and sales as well.
Likewise, violent crimes involves weapons like knives or guns  will  be shortened if employees don’t have any place to maintain them.

Cellphones are not technically contrabands, should remain exterior to the facility. These phones allows employee to create text messages or  call out of  buildings where they can’t be supervised by managements,allowing way to freedoms for conducting non-work related or illegal businesses on corporate time.

Thus at present we have decided that keeping cell phones and contrabands away from workplaces is a better idea, how to achieve this?

·     Follow  with Penalty for offence

Creation of drug-free workplaces along with particular definitions and guidelines of the type of drugs should or should not permitted inside the buildings. Specify corporate policy of cellphones usage and such cellphones are impermissible. Create “zero tolerance” policies about weapons on your facilities and has  forums to discuss such policies, effects of breaking ways and policies to report  suspected violations.

Depending on your corporate policies you may need to seek  company property or lockers if you’ve enough intuition that policies might be violated.Ensure that you admit the suitable signage like  “Lockers are Company Properties” and “Locker Subject for Searching”  in every employee locker rooms & basic areas .

Signs which states your policy on weapons or guns , drugs & alcohols, search policies, cell phones  clearly transmit security practice at your facilities. Signs are big deterrents and  ensure those employees and visitors knew that shouldn’t bring  weapons, drugs or cell phones in  buildings.
